Summary of Job Description

Reporting to the Audit Manager, the Audit Supervisor has oversight on Audit staff during audit and consulting engagements. The Audit Supervisor has oversight on the designing the audit tools; preparation of work plans; preparation and review of working papers; communication findings and recommendations to management and preparation of the Audit Report.

Detailed Roles and responsibilities

The Audit Supervisor is responsible for:

  • Audit supervision of the Audit Team on all audit engagements.
  • Assists the Audit manager in conducting the Audit engagement, audit planning and audit risk management procedures
  • Reviews Audit files and working papers for the Audit Team.
  • Reviews the management reports and address queries elevated by audit in Charge.
  • Review of draft reports and schedules prepared by the audit team for approval by the Audit Manager.
  • Discussions with client on difficult and contentious audit issues which the Audit in Charge may have failed to handle.
  • Review reports made to management on observations made during the audit for management’s attention.
  • Prepare regular update reports to management
  • Reviews the Audit planning memo, checklist and wider mandate reports for Audits performed on behalf of the Auditor General.
  • Maintain and review caseware files for all Audit clients
  • Assist the Audit Manager in conducting non-audit financial services.
  • Provides regular training and coaching to the Audit team.
  • Support the Audit Manager in conducting consultancy work for review of internal controls, policies and procedures;
  • Assist Management with responding to PAAB and ACCA firm review
  • Assist management with providing technical feedback to PAAB and ACCA

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s of Accounting Degree / Part or fully qualified ACCA
  • Minimum 3 yeas audit experience of which a year must be as Audit in Charge.
  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office suite, Working knowledge for Accounting and Auditing software
